Then they were called canvas shoes, they were very rough and quite primitive, while they were not divided into right and left legs. Already in 1895, Joseph William Foster developed the first model of sports shoes with spikes in England, and in 1892 the American Rubber Company created more comfortable shoes with rubber soles and textile upper. This model received the so-called name “sneakers”.
